Power plugs and sockets are two crucial pieces of electrical equipment which its use can never be overemphasized in our world today. There are different types of power plugs and devices, and we shall elaborate on some of them in this article.
The most widely used Type of power plugs at the Type A and type B power plugs.
Type A Plugs
The Type A plug is used widely in countries like Japan and Central America. This is a class 2 ungrounded plug that has two flat parallel prongs. This plug is 1.5 mm thick, measures 15.9 to 18.3 mm, and has a space of 12.7 mm. There are two flat prongs in the Type a power plug with a hole near the tip. The essence of this hole is to take apart a type A or B socket and to checkmate the contact wipers in which the prongs will be plugged. The plug can be fit in some unique outlets by putting some roads through the holes. You should also know that the Type A plugs are not insulated.
Type B Plugs
The type B plug is a class 1 plug known as the American standard. Just like the Type, a power plug it has two flat 1.5 mm thick blades, the space between them is 12.7 mm, and it has a length of 15.9 to 18.2 mm wild weeds in 6.3 mm. The type B power plugs are not come on in places like South America and Central America. Also, the Type B power plug is not insulated.
